4x4 Breathing Technique for Energy and Focus

A simple yet powerful breathing technique which serves as “Pick me up now!” technique when you need to get focused quickly while dealing with stress or fatigue.

Let's begin

Sit comfortably, in your chair or on the floor. Place your hands in a prayer position in front of your chest or keep them relaxed palm down on your laps. Eyes closed or just relax your gaze.

Prepare by doing a slow inhale and exhale, in your head say “I am here, I am now”.

Start breathing:

  • Inhale on count of 4

  • Hold your breath on count of 4

  • Exhale on count of 4

  • Hold your breath on count of 4

Repeat for a total of 3 minutes.

Finish with a slow inhale, holding your breath for 10-30 seconds. and exhale slowly.

Rub your palms to create some heat in your hands and place them onto your face for a moment.

Experience the sensation of being calm, focused, and energized.
